-Thomas has over 15 years research, design and engineering experience across a broad cross section of the Telecom and Networking industry.  Thomas was the principle hardware designer for a successful venture backed networking startup, Cyras, which was acquired by Ciena in late-2000 for $2.6 Billion. While at Ciena, he led the hardware architecture and development of many successful telecommunication and data network subsystem products including an Ethernet Transport LAN Services Module, a Low Speed Add-Drop Module and a Gigabit Ethernet Bridging Module. Thomas has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University, supplemented by certification in Business for Technical Managers, Strategic Project Management, Creating Excellence in Workplace, and Leadership Styles from UCLA.
