Tom founded Thomas A. Kelley & Associates, an executive search firm based at 3000 Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, California; notable for the concentration of venture capital firms there. For 33 years, from 1969 to 2002, Tom and his partners specialized in forming management teams for entrepreneurial, high technology start-ups and emerging early stage companies. Mr. Kelley’s firm performed CEO, Vice President and Board level searches for some of the technology industry’s most noted firms. Many of the high tech success stories were clients early in their business histories (Rolm Corporation, Intel, Apple, Sun, Microsoft, Spectra Physics, Memorex, JDS Uniphase, etc. to name just a few). Tom is “semi-retired” remaining actively involved in several non-profits and advising entrepreneurs and innovative high-tech companies.
